Lesson One- Answering Planet Questions (One day)
The students will be assigned group members. Each group will
have 3-4 students in it.
The groups will all be given the same questions to research:
1. What
does your planet look like?
2. How
far is your planet from the sun?
3. What
is your planet made of?
4. How
did your planet get its name?
5. How
old is your planet?
The groups will decide which members will answer which
questions.
The groups will use a variety of resources to research the
answers to their questions. (If an online resources is used the link should be
provided at the end of the blog post)
The group will create one blog post with all of their
answers in it.
Lesson Two- Asking Planet Questions (Two days)
The students will get back into their groups they have been
working with.
As a group, the students should come up with one question
relating to their planet for each member of the group to research.
Suggestion questions:
1. Would it be possible to live on this planet?
2. If we traveled to
this planet, how would we survive?
3. What kind of crops could grow on this planet based on
what the planet is made of?
The Students should research their questions, and then
create individual posts on their groups page on the blog.
Each student should have another member of the group review
their post for errors before the post is published.
Lesson Three- Presenting Research (Two Days)
Day 1
The groups will take turn presenting their findings to the
class.
As the groups are presenting
the other students in the class are listening and creating questions/
comments about the information being presented.
The questions/comments will be made in the comment section
of each groups page on the blog.
Day 2
The groups will answer the questions and reply to comments
the classmates made for their group. The students may need to do further
research in order to answer the questions.
